Life Expectancies of the Single Woman

Wikimedia Commons/Life.com

Life is a daily surprise. Just when you think you’ve got your future planned, fate throws in a monkey wrench wrecking the synchronicity of your world order. If you thought that you’d find your true love by now, but it hasn’t happened yet, don’t fret. I can’t predict your life expectancy, but I can predict what you can expect when you are single.

Expect:

to be alone but not lonely

to be the one who takes out the trash including those on two legs

to be heartbroken, but not damaged

to enjoy flirting with bad boys just don’t expect forever

to not tolerate anything that makes you unhappy

to enjoy Girls’ Night Out

to look at every sexy male “ass” and not feel guilty about it

to “disengage” yourself from a male ass

to be the third wheel that adds humor and light in an otherwise dull pair

to never lose who you are

to cook for one and enjoy eating that one exotic ingredient that everybody hates and only you like

that the only rule in dating is to be yourself

that not all men know how to be just “friends” with a woman

to enjoy walks on the beach while dreaming of wonderful things to come

to never rely on the kindness of a strange, handsome man, but always be gracious upon such instances because you never know when a chance encounter can turn into a love match

to be in love with yourself for as long as you live

You can have a positive attitude about being single or you can blame the monkey wrench. What do you think?

I think single women need to kick their heels and and enjoy the party! Single just means solo, not unhappy.

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Absolutely! Let’s make like Dorothy and kick our heels together :)

How are you doing with your new status? Embrace the freedom and enjoy yourself. It’s a struggle to stay positive sometimes, but cheery is better than gloomy.
Look into being a Crazy Chick :)

      • It kind of sucks, to be honest.

        • Lafemmeroar says:

It can suck, hurt, be embarrassing, but in the end it can also feel very cathartic :)

Great post as always but I am thinking that more than a few of these apply to every woman, single or married . . .

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Very true :) Thank you for being so insightful. Women single, married or divorced deserve the best …

Taking out the trash has got to be the worst thing about this. :)

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Trash is really men’s work don’t you think? :)

It’s better to be single and happy than to be together and unhappy! ;)

      Amen sister!

I love this. I sent your blog link to a friend who I think could benefit from your positive way of thinking. Not because she’s negative about life, but just so she knows there are a lot of people who are happy and content being single. She gets a lot of flack from her sister-in-law about being single and she’s sick of it. Hopefully she’ll get a chance to read some of your stuff and take heart that she has lots of support from all us Crazy Chicks!
