I love my Grandma Jean’s whipping cream the best! I think she flavours it with vanilla…or is that what you’re supposed to do, lol. All I know, is that I want to know what she does b/c I love it!

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Yes, it’s probably the vanilla and just a touch of sugar. One Thanksgiving I whipped the cream too much and it turned into butter. I was going to throw it away when I thought hey, we can put this on the rolls …

  2. hollyjb says:

! I’ve never made butter, but I think that’s awesome! Did you making more whipping cream?

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Yes, I made more or the natives would have gone restless with a bare pumpkin pie. 🙂

      • hollyjb says:

You can’t have pumpkin pie w/o cream! My Dad used to hate it b/c his Mom made it from canned pumpkin, but then he had MY Mom’s….she cuts up those pumpkins herself. We all love all of her pies ^_^. I’m biased, but my Mom makes the best apple pie in the world :D. Oh man, now I want some!

        • Lafemmeroar says:

We usually get ours at Marie Callender’s, but I think they’ve closed most of their locations in my area so I don’t where I’ll get them this year … I’m thinking of making pumpkin pie from scratch … oh that would be an endeavor having to roast pumpkins … I’m for the canned pumpkin … who needs to roast, when you’ve got a can opener …and I usually have a bit of pie with my cream … although my eating healthier these days would limit that serving to one instead of 3-4 …

          • hollyjb says:

I could eat a whole pie! I don’t know if I’ve ever had canned pumpkin pie. I remember there was a time when I was a kid that I didn’t like it, but I don’t know why. I’ve heard it’s gross compared to making from scratch. But it is a lot of work. Pie’s and stuffing oh and coffee cake (!) are 3 of the things I would like to learn from my Mom. At least the pie and stuff. I’ll leave the coffee cake to me sister, lol. It’s hard not to eat a lot of pie in my family, or anything ‘fatty’. We’re Mennonites. At least, that’s my ‘background’ and my Mom’s Mom goes to a Mennonite church, lol. We’re definitely modern, not old order or Amish, but a lot of my distant old relatives still where the dresses and caps like old order. And my Grandma makes quilts ^_^.

              @Holly

your family can have shows on the Food Network and DIY. I haven’t had coffee cake in years sounds good. When I was little we used to watch my mom make boxed cake … lemon was my favorite.

              • hollyjb says:

Ha! DYI no. We were in that house for…16 years before the fire and there was still so much to do. Although the log cabin section looked awesome, minus the make-shift stairs, lol. My Grandma, Mom, and now sister (she helps) make the coffee cake in round cakes (one big one) and little buns (about 8/cake). They are best the day of, otherwise you have to freeze them or they go bad, no preservatives you know. My Mom gives those away instead of Christmas card ^_^. It means a full, full day of baking, punching, letting rise, and doing it all over again, lol. I think I know what you mean by boxed cake…I like lemon flavoured cakes too.

As for the Food Network, well, this ain’t no Slap Chop diet, we’d definitely *not* be ‘making America skinny again’, lol.

    That’s funny 🙂

How in the hell did you all get off the topic of whipping men? I was soooo ready to read some good bdsm replies…LOL

Besides, everyone knows that men are more like wine. They start out as grapes, but once you stomp the shit out of them, they become something you’d like to have dinner with.

    Have a great weekend.

or, and btw….thanks for coming by the hop the other day. Sorry I didn’t get the linky fixed until you had already come by. You were the only one to take part. (I’m sooooo unloved)

That last photo looks so stinking good.

  6. I have just added you to my Blogroll, concentrating more on the cream than the excitable women above her with the uncomfortable trousers. Having said that, whipped cream is always a nice treat, and so good for the waistline

  7. Xehra says:

Shit! :p You and your whoop-de-dooey ideas, Woman! HAHAAAHHAA. I get the picture. 😉

  8. I figured the whole “comments” section would be full of salacious, deliciously naughty references to S&M, and half of it is about pumpkin pie?! Yes, we truly ARE women… we know what the real priorities are! Loved the graphic, LaFemme!

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Have you done a post about being vegan? I could never do it, but I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the subject. I mean vegans don’t eat anything that’s walked, swam and flown right?

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Well … I’m exhausted for some reason, but I had a great time talking about old times. Some of our experiences are too unbelievable so I think that I’m going to do a post and let the readers guess which “bit” is fact or fiction? What do you think?

  17. supernaut says:

Talking about old times… It gets me nostalgic – I don’t remember the last time I was able to do that with friends.

    I’m jealous now

    • Lafemmeroar says:

      We’ve known each other 25 years …. 🙂 I haven’t seen her in about 6 years, but it’s as if I just saw her yesterday. We haven’t changed a bit … I don’t know if that’s a good thing 🙂
