Crazy Chick Q & A #15

This week, meet Sips of Jen and Tonic

Why are you a Crazy Chick?

I’m not afraid to say exactly what’s on my mind. I’ve talked about getting the pooped sucked out of me, gave advice on how not to suck as a person, and discussed menstruating. I blame a combination of genetics and an undiagnosed mental illness of some kind for this behavior.

Describe your blog in three words.

Irreverent. Outlandish. Tongue-in-cheek.

What is the title of your favorite post? Why?

This is a hard question because I’m such a genius. If I had to pick it would be my “A Straight Shot to the Babymaker” post. It’s the only piece I’ve written where the words flowed that easily, and I did very little editing when it was done. It’s also the article I’ve gotten the most hate mail about, and who doesn’t enjoy a little shade being thrown their way?

If you could eat one food item for the rest of your life what would it be and why?

A sandwich. There are very few things in life that you can eat with your hands anymore without people looking at you like you’re a cave person.

Do you prefer to cook or eat out?

I prefer to cook. Even though it’s fun to stuff my face with a greasy cheeseburger, I find the act of cooking to be really relaxing. Plus, my probation officer just started letting me use knives again!

Describe your fashion style.

It fits, it’s comfortable, and it’s on sale.

Define the word sexy.

Sexy is being authentic to yourself, and not trying to fit into any mold but the one you were born to fit into.

What’s your favorite: book, movie, music and television show?

Book: “Idiot Girls’ Action-Adventure Club” by Laurie Notaro. I laughed from beginning to end, and still do even though I’ve read it several times.

Movie: Anchorman. Stay classy, Crazy Chicks Club.

Music: Fleetwood Mac is my all-time favorite band. I think the combination of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham is pure magic.

Television Show: Golden Girls! Dorothy was my favorite character, but I loved how spicy Blanche was. If I’m half as promiscuous as Blanche when I’m that age, I’ve succeeded as a person.

What makes you mad?

People who want to force their beliefs on you. Differences in opinion are okay, and I really do enjoy a lively debate from time to time. It’s when the person stops respecting your view-point, and just wants to cram their ideologies down your throat that bothers me. Oh, and Gwyneth Paltrow. That uppity biatch really pisses me off.

What makes you happy?

There are so many things that make me happy, but there are two which really top the list. I love that moment when you meet someone, and you’re so much alike that it was almost as though you were born to know each other.  Not just in love, but in friendship as well. The other is when someone is being horrible to you, and you have the exact comeback needed to put them in their place. The term I use for that is “The Ultimate Burnski.”

What makes you sad?

Those commercials about animal cruelty with Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel” dubbed over them. I’m instantly reduced to a puddle, and always end up throwing dollar bills at the television. “Take all of my money, Sarah. Just make it stop!”

What’s your favorite color?

Red. I think it’s the most expressive of all the colors: passion, love, anger, lust, danger, power. Can you see blue or green pulling that off? No.

What are you most grateful for in this world?

My crazy good looks. In all seriousness, I’m very grateful for my health, and the health of those around me. It’s one of those little things we take for granted until we (or someone we know) is not well.

What is the one achievement that makes you the most proud?

That I no longer answer to anyone but myself. I don’t let chatter about the “right” way to do things in life affect me anymore, and the freedom and success I’ve experienced as a result are things I’m immensely proud of.

If you could go back in time, what is the one thing you would change?

I don’t think I’d change anything. My life is exactly the way it should be right now, and I don’t want to mess with that formula. Although, maybe I’d go back in time and give my sister more wedgies…

What would you do if you were a man (anatomically correct) for a day?

I would play with my johnson all day long. I would dress it up in a top hat, hang a coat from it, or maybe hammer some nails into the wall with it. You know, things guys normally do with it.

If you had super powers, what would it be and why?

I would love to be able to teleport. All of my closest friends and family members live far away so it’d be nice just to beam myself into their living rooms…or into their bathrooms when they’re in the shower.

What is your dream job?

I’d love to do standup comedy, but don’t have the chops or guts for it. Being a full-time writer is something I’m currently pursuing. For now, I’m swinging this drop dead sexy body around a pole at night to make ends meet.

Share 3 non-Wordpress sites that you just can’t live without. And tell us why.

Facebook. As someone who considers herself stalker-ish, Facebook is a dream come true for me.

Pinterest. This is my porn. Crafts. Clothes. Quotes. Animals. Destinations. Recipes. Décor. I just scroll through the site for hours and get turned on by all of the eye candy.

Expats Post. This is like Disneyland for me because it’s all of my favorite writers in one place. Whether you like politics, current events, movies, poetry, humor…this site has it covered.

Describe your craziest day.

I saw my mom give birth to my youngest sister who is 13 years my junior. Seeing a vag stretch to those proportions as a human slides out…that’s a crazy day.

What would you do if today were your last day on earth?

I’d do all the things I wouldn’t normally do, but would love to: shamelessly eating something I just dropped on the floor in front of onlookers, scuba diving without panicking about a large sea creature eating me, and punching Michele Bachmann square in the jaw.

Thanks Jen. Stay tuned next week for another installment of the Crazy Chick Q and A.
