Crazy Chick Q & A #29

Hey Crazy Chicks … it’s been a while since we did one of these. I’m very happy to introduce you to Selena Robins Musing! 🙂

Why are you a Crazy Chick?

Because sanity is boring, overrated, non-eclectic and it’s cool to wear my pink Crazy Chick badge on my blog.

Describe your blog in three words.

Disney for Adults.

What is the title of your favorite post? Why?

My first blog post titled: Newbie Blogger – “Please be gentle. The Blogging Goddess isn’t finished with me yet.”

This was my maiden voyage into the turbulent sea of blogging, and although I was apprehensive about this whole blogging gig, it turned out to be a lot of fun and I’ve met some of the most intelligent, witty and crazy-fun people.

If you could eat one food item for the rest of your life what would it be and why?

Gluten Free Focaccia. Reason: It’s the best bread in the world, and it can be baked and topped with a variety of herbs, oils, vegetables, cheeses, olives…now I’m craving some, good thing I keep the basic dough in my freezer at all times for emergencies like this.

Do you prefer to cook or eat out?

We’re still talking food here, right? If that’s the case, then cooking wins hands down

Describe your fashion style.

Mood-wear. This means whatever I’m in the mood to wear. If I want to show my artsy side, then I’ll wear jeans, artistic jewelry and kick-ass boots…oh yes, I do wear something on top, just depends on the mood I’m in; it could be a silk blouse or a turtleneck…or nothing if I’m in the mood and I’m alone with my husband. Summer time, I love wearing long flowing type dresses a-la-Bohemian style, but winter months, it’s mostly yoga pants and sweaters. Depending on my mood the colors range from fuchsia, bright orange to dark brown or black.

Define the word sexy.

Intelligence, confidence without being overly cocky, great smile—the kind that reaches one’s eyes, witty with a great sense of self-deprecating humor and a passionate nature…could be passionate about the planet Pluto, it doesn’t matter, but without having a passion for something and a goal to fulfill that passion, there is no sexy

What’s your favorite: book, movie, music and television show?

Book(s): The Last Convertible. The Phantom of The Opera. Catcher in the Rye. I’m an avid reader and admire many contemporary authors, I couldn’t just pick one for contemporary, too many to list.

Movie: I’m not a huge movie buff, but I do love the quirky type of movies; Breakaway and Sideways are two of my favorites.

Music: The crazy chick in me is feeling, dancing to and singing along with the Gangnam Style song. (Don’t judge me or I’ll hunt you down). I’m a huge fan of the Beatles and Peter Gabriel. I also enjoy Michael Buble, Blake Shelton, Coldplay and Andrew Lloyd Weber’s musicals.

Television: Any time I really love a television show they cancel it (eg. Pushing Daisies and The Chicago Code and now I hear Flashpoint is cancelled). I do enjoy Big Bang Theory and I’m a Food Network Fan, especially the competitions.

What makes you mad?

Abuse, especially against society’s most vulnerable and animal abuse.

What makes you happy?

As sappy and sane as this is going to sound for a self-professed crazy chick, what truly makes my heart and soul dance and light up my life, is knowing that my family are all healthy, doing well and are happy themselves—then I’m ecstatic. Add in some spicy dark chocolate, and I’ll be spinning my crazy self into happy-happy orbit.

What makes you sad?

The reverse of what makes me happy.

What’s your favorite color?

Purple

What are you most grateful for in this world?

The ability to love and being loved. For my whole family, each and every crazy one of them, the bonus ones and the blood-related ones, and good friends who know me and still love me.

What is the one achievement that makes you the most proud?

Having the opportunity to be a caregiver to my dad, mum-in-law and dad-in-law while they faced health challenges and being able to be there for them all until the very end so I can thank them for allowing me to do that for them, and having the opportunity to say goodbye

If you could go back in time, what is the one thing you would change?

I am who I am today because of everything I’ve been through, so to change anything may change my destination and I wouldn’t want to do that. (May sound like a cop-out answer to some people, but I truly believe if you change one thing then that may influence all the others, like a domino effect). Besides if I changed something, then I may not have been accepted into the Crazy Chick Hall of Fame. (There is one small change I’d make that wouldn’t have changed the course of my life. I would NEVER have cut my own bangs right before graduation pictures were to be taken in high school.)

What would you do if you were a man (anatomically correct) for a day?

Pee standing up.

If you had super powers, what would it be and why?

And now for the politically incorrect commentary. I wish I had enough clout to fly overseas and kick some serious ass to the asshole misogynist leaders who allow the abuse of women and young girls. After straightening them out, I’d be equipped with enough super-magical-powers to corral all the women and children who have been maimed and hurt by the bastards and get them the hell out of their situation. After that, I’d use my powers to create something that would give a helluva shock to any man’s brain and body if they even thought about stoning a woman or selling their daughter to slavery. The assholes wouldn’t be able to walk or talk if those thoughts entered their mind. Instead, my magical powers would instill some common sense, understanding, compassion, peace and educating them into cherishing their women instead of controlling them with archaic laws and rituals.

Okay, now I’m sounding like a Miss America contestant who wants to bring peace to the world, but the difference with my wish is that I want to beat the crap out of those evil beings that are hurting vulnerable people in their country and filling young children’s heads with hatred. I doubt Miss American pageant would allow the young woman to curse and say that she wanted to beat the shit out of the misogynist pigs, so there’s the difference.

What is your dream job?

What I’m doing now, being a published author.

Share 3 non-Wordpress sites that you just can’t live without. And tell us why.

You Tube – Discovered the Gangnam Style song there, need I say more?

The Romance Man – Read one of his blog posts and you’ll know why I love his blog. He’s hilarious and so are the comments. Much like all the Crazy Chicks here.

Nathan Bransford’s blog – he provides a lot of information on the publishing industry.

 Describe your craziest day.

Every day is a crazy day for a crazy chick. We’re heading into the Christmas season, I’m going to have a major one in about a week, when I realize I haven’t done everything I need to do.

What would you do if today were your last day on earth?

Call all my family members to bring all the chocolate they can carry and come over so we can be together….well, I’d call them AFTER my husband and I made mad love.

Artsy, scattered, overthinker…….!!! I blog, therefore I AM!! So many questions, I may have to write a blog post to answer them all!!!!

  2. ooglebloops says:

I hit enter before I was done – it was a great post, and definitely an inspiring “prompt” for me!!

  3. Tori Nelson says:

Love Selena’s answers “What makes you sad? The reverse of what makes me happy”. Awesome post 🙂

  4. I sooo want to come hang out with you two! I can’t even imagine how much fun it would be!
I love Selena’s sassy H&H, and I love the color purple! Lafemmeroar, thanks for the great Q&A. when is yours???

    • Lafemmeroar says:

Well … I never thought of answering my own interview questions. But you’ve definitely given me something to think about! I think it would be fun to have a Crazy Chicks convention!!!!! Imagine the kind of damage we’d all do as a CREW!!!! We’d all have our own “schlong sickles” in case we ran into a bad schlong! lololol

But really some of my biggest fans are great dudes. In fact, they’re always the top five commenters in my stats page. They are definitely NOT AFRAID of getting whacked … ’cause they’re good guys. 🙂

    • Hi, Pat, thanks so much for coming over, I appreciate your support. You can hang out with us any time, but we are not responsible if you don’t return the same way back to your family. LOL

A similar Q&A for Lafemme would be awesome. Great idea.

  5. Ok Selena, I cannot believe that you have never tried to pee standing up! Evry girl has that has brothers. Why you ask? “because they want to be just like them” even though the pee is running down our legs we can still tell them ‘see’, ‘I can pee just like you!’
I’ll be on that plane to help you kick those asses, and for good measure, IM going to bring my ball crusher!

    • Hi, CrazyGranny, I have 3 brothers, and I have tried to pee standing up, but it was not successful, hence my answer, meaning it would be so great to whip it out when I have to go, because I always have to go, I drink so much water and finding a restroom that is good enough for a Crazy Chick to sit down in, while on the road, can be a challenge.

I hereby give you some of my super power, and yes, bring a ball crusher with you, or we could just use our high heeled boots. 🙂

    • Lafemmeroar says:

I pee standing up sometimes, but it’s usually when I’m racing to the bathroom, but my bladder is saying forget it … you took too long. I’m going without you!!!!!!!!!

      • LOL I know what you mean. I map out every rest room if I’m going on a long drive, even with those “exercises” we do, we still need to rush the bathroom. I swear, my bladder must be the size of an acorn.

  6. Hmmmm, I’m in moderation, wonder why? I promise to behave…. 😉

  7. Selena’s superpower answer is the best I’ve read so far and I love how much she loves her family. I’m gonna go check out her blog right now!

    • Hi, Diana, nice to meet you and thank you for the kind words.

I said something similar on another blog awhile back and was told it was not politically correct and some just didn’t seem to understand my desire to bash assholes heads. Go figure?

Family and friends is what makes us truly rich and healthy, without those two, then it would be a boring life. Looking forward to chatting with you more.

    • Lafemmeroar says:

You’ll be addicted just like her readers 🙂

  8. Very Cool, thanks for the shout out!

  9. Kristy Wyatt says:

    LOVED the interview!
OK *deep breath* I’m going to confess something here and only because it’s you, Selena! I know you’ll love me no matter what I say… If I were a man for one day, I would be OBSESSED with my “manhood”. I have always wondered what it felt like to them. (Is that weird?) It would be like an experiement to me. I would try to figure out what felt good, what felt not so good. I would pretty much play with it all day! LOL. I would also go outside and write my name as I peed standing up. 😉
Loved all your answers to the fun questions! xoxox

    • Hi, Kristy, thanks for popping on over and I hope you come back and visit Lafemme and share more of your thoughts.

You called it a “manhood” LOL Have you been reading a lot of romances lately?

And we here at Crazy Chicks Central do not judge other crazy chicks on what they want to do with a schlong if they would have one. Glad you enjoyed the interview.

  10. Everything she said is true. Her blog is Disney for adults with great receipes and fun stories. I hear you on the standing up to pee thing. Just once I’d like to be the one that could write my name in the snow and pee without dropping my underwear. Your last day on earth should be what everyone does everyday. The world would be a better place and purple rocks 🙂

  11. Superpower response is the best thing ever. I would definitely be your sidekick. We found Selena by way of your interview on her blog and we were so excited to see you’ve got her on yours. Crazy Chicks Unite!!! Great post!

  12. Kelly says:

Oh Selena if I didn’t love you already after reading your interview I would fall in love with you again. You are such a fun beautiful person inside and out and the world could use more people like you, what a better place it would be, thanks for always making me smile. And I agree everyone should read the romance mans blog they won’t be sorry.

  13. renxkyoko says:

I wish for that super power myself.

  14. Kelly says:

Hey what a great interview I already love Selena this just makes me love her more. You are funny all around good people. I would love to be your side kick and help kick some ass over seas to. And I agree if you have never read The Romance Mans blog you should he is funny to.

  15. Love the interview. Fabulous! Xx

  16. You’ve got to love the Crazy Chicks. The zest for life, the common sense and the useful catering tips. Oh no. That was another Blog, but the Zest for Life and Common Sense bits are true !

  17. Pat Cochran says:

Great interview! If I were a man for a day, I think I would also try the standing elimination thing. LOL!

    Pat Cochran

  18. Phil Gayle_For Singles and Couples says:
