Why are you a Crazy Chick?

Hi.

My name is Chrystalyn Hope. I am here today because every kiss begins with K’s and Lafemme said o-K. So I took that shit and ran with it!

Actually a lot of people say I am crazy. So many in fact that I figured it must be true. They say it is a “good kind of crazy.” I have NO idea what that means. Maybe it is because I have 4 boys by four different fathers and yet still rise to exceed people’s expectations of me to be a statistic? Perhaps it is because I am a firm believer in anything is possible and research  everything I come across till it is pulp in my brain? Perhaps it is because I wrote a post called, “Hi! I’m Crazy!”? All I know is I am intelligent, funny, and as awkward as a deer trying to take its first steps when meeting me in person the first couple times. But, people love me. Too many sometimes.

My Mind Evolving.

What is the title of your favorite post? Why?

It is hard for me to pick of my own works. I assume it is our own works since everyone else answers with theirs. I write so many different styles. I have to say it is a tie. “Live Long and Prosper” My Son. It is about my son’s, our, and societies battle with Autism. OR Scarborough Tales Part 1 because it is my first true work of fiction that has come purely from imagination not inspired by events, a dream, or people.

Of LaFemme’s, I’d say the Schlongisms. HILARIOUS!

Why are you a Crazy Chick?

Crazy It runs in the family–both sexes. We’re all a little nuts. Not long ago, my 35-year-old son asked me to take a picture of him wearing his official clone trooper costume. We were in the front yard and I was clicking away, not a care in the world, when I realized cars were slowing down to watch. It wasn’t just the costume they were looking at. My parrot was sitting on top of my head while I was taking the pictures. So we waved at everybody as they drove by and continued with the picture-taking. It was a blast.

What is the title of your favorite post?

The Long Term Effects of Gravity and Other Things about Turning 50 That Suck.  Why? Because I think the Universe plays a colossal joke on women when they reach a ‘certain age’ and we may as well laugh at it.

1. What do you think happens when you die? I’ll most likely go to heaven if  the “Powers that be” forgive me for all my schlong and revenge posts. And when I become that spirit in the sky, I’ll become ubiquitous in the world wherein my consciousness will be one with mankind and I will have the ultimate understanding about life and existence. Although … this would be ironic because it’s too late to do anything about my newfound insight … this is the irony of life and death.
2. Creation vs Evolution? I believe in survival of the fittest! I was created by my parents, but I’ve evolved into a pragmatic dreamer who believes that dreams can turn into reality if you stay persistent in your goals and not let negativism put a monkey wrench in your progress.

Why are you a Crazy Chick? I don’t know that I’d go so far as to say that I’m crazy.(after all, there is NO signed paperwork stating that), but I would say that when the moon is in just the right phase, I’ve been known to do some very “un-sociable” things.

Describe your blog in three words. “Currently Un-Supervised”

What is the title of your favorite post? Why? Gosh, this is the hardest question of all of them.  In fact, I had to come back to it last. I really don’t know.  I’ve written some stuff that I just thought was brilliant, and no one said a word about it. Then, I write something about “the sacred art of pooping” and people love it. I would hope that everyone would read my “about me” page so that they could know who I am before they read anything I write. There’s a secret de-coder ring there to help them understand.

Crazy, Stupid People. I wrote it after a bad day at work. It’s basically a rant about customers. I’ve since quit that job, so it’s all good!

I’m not afraid to say exactly what’s on my mind. I’ve talked about getting the pooped sucked out of me, gave advice on how not to suck as a person, and discussed menstruating. I blame a combination of genetics and an undiagnosed mental illness of some kind for this behavior.

This is a hard question because I’m such a genius. If I had to pick it would be my “A Straight Shot to the Babymaker” post. It’s the only piece I’ve written where the words flowed that easily, and I did very little editing when it was done. It’s also the article I’ve gotten the most

Why are you a Crazy Chick?

To quote Gaga, “I was born this way.”  My mom and grandma were both manic-depressive and therefore had very few, shall we say, social filters that stop most thinking people from diplomatically holding their tongues.  I was a singer/pianist in bars and clubs all over the world, toured and all the rest.  Got totally blotto in my 20s with everything I could get my hands on… and it’s free, when you’re a musician, so that made it all the worse… came home to detox.  Eventually got married, had a daughter who became her own style of Crazy Chick (Riley is an artist and helluva young woman)… I speak my mind (although, thank God, I’m on meds and therapy now), I’m a social justice activist, I’m that rare follower of Jesus who accepts that ALL paths led by love end up with some sort of heaven or Nirvana.  In short, I’m nuts.

Why are you a Crazy Chick?

My first novel (still in progress) is about a dead naked man-whore. That probably qualifies me right there. But there’s also the fact that I’m pretty sure my soul was switched up at birth with someone who was destined to be a stereotypical bachelor dude. I’m pathetically un-domestic, never learned to cook, and can’t wear heels without looking like a stork. I’m fanatical about Steelers football.

I do like makeup, candles, and girly boots, so I guess I’m not a total lost cause.
